New Feature Drop and A More Social App…

Over multiple years, and feature by feature, Count. It has evolved from a challenge and rankings platform to a highly social community platform.

New Feature Drop and A More Social App…
Profitability is highly correlated to corporate culture. Just saying.

Today we're releasing a cool upgrade to our challenge newsfeeds: support for embedded videos, multiple image formats, clickable hyperlinks, and more. Last week, we upgraded our “distance” challenges: admins can now create virtual hikes with any starting point and destination — AND multiple checkpoints along the way...

All of these new features are inspired by an insight that sinks in more deeply with every passing month: Count. It is not in the fitness business. We're in the culture business.

It’s the community, stupid!

Yes, we absolutely want people to move their bodies more, but wellness — for both people and organizations — lies in connection. In a modern world of remote workplaces and Netflix-and-DoorDash homes, most of us do not deeply yearn to count our steps. We yearn for real, meaningful human contact.

No app can substitute for the giant old office holiday party or that legendary corporate offsite, but... with a little love, you'd be surprised what an office challenge can do.

And it turns out that “a little love” really means a lot of communication — preferably with embedded videos and high-res images of your coworkers hiking in the Rockies. 😉

It might also mean tying your challenge to a real-world event, like a local charity 10K, or bringing in a celebrity challenge MC. These are exactly the kinds of things that, little by little, are coming to Count.It.

For the record, this year alone we’ve launched:

  • Social Streaks (“Consistency” view)
  • Virtual journey challenges with real destinations and checkpoints
  • Samsung Health integration
  • Embedded videos in feeds
  • Animated GIF avatars (!!!)
  • Rich text posts
  • Faster UI and smoother animations

Honestly, the app feels more alive than ever. And we’re still just getting started.

Don’t be a stranger. We’ll be here when you need us.
